The actress was nominated for an Oscar first time for her performance as the wife of Stephen Hawking's in The Theory of Everything. Jones as Stephen Hawking's second wife in the biopic, earned a lot of praise both from critics as well as viewers for the way she played her. Inferno featuring Tom Hanks was next on her resume. Jones won the British Artist of year award in the year 2016 by the British Academy of Film and Television Arts Los Angeles. The award was given for her extraordinary talents and her contribution to the cinema.
