Anna Leigh Ashford

Annaleigh Amanda Ashford has been an American dancer, actress and singer since the early 1990s. As a young actress, she appeared in Broadway performances, she starred her role in Wicked Legally Blonde Hair. The actress was awarded her Tony Award for Best Featured Actress in the Play for playing Essie Carmichael from You Can't Take It With You. Annaleigh is a Tony Award winning actress and director has spent most of her professional career working with famous directors and actors both on screen and in television. Ashford will next be seen starring opposite Kumail Nanjiani in the Hulu limited series Welcome to Chippendales from creator Robert Siegel premiering on November 22. Ashford is currently working on Searchlight Pictures' horror film Dust which stars Sarah Paulson alongside Ebon and Moss Bachrach. The film will be aired on Disney DTC as an Hulu Original. Ashford is set to return in 2023 and will star alongside Josh Groban at the Lunt-Fontanne Theatre in the revival of Stephensondheim's Sweeney Todd. Thomas Kail, director and producer of Hamilton is the director of the show. Ashford played Paula Jones, the main character in Ryan Murphy's new FX series American Crime Story Impeachment. The series is based on the crisis which swept Paula Jones Monica Lewinsky Linda Tripp along with other key actors into the very first impeachment trial in the United States in over a century. Ashford starred for two seasons in CBS successful comedy B Positive. Also, she was a part of the cult series, created by Marco Pennette Chuck Lorre, which featured famous actors Linda Lavin Hector Elizondo Ben Vereen. Not a stranger to Broadway Ashford has been awarded both the Tony Drama Desk Award and the Outer Critics Circle Awards with her role as Essie. She has also appeared in Broadway on Sunday in the Park With George Wicked, Legally Blonde and the first character as Lauren In Kinky Boots for which she was nominated for the Tony Award. Ashford has been born in Denver, now spends time in Los Angeles and New York.
