Beautiful pics of Tamara Day and Sarah Stiles feet & legs
I was a gruelling 12 hour days sanding floors and taking wallpaper down with one baby strapped to my back and the others playing into the playpen. Ha! Everything was starting to fall in place, yet there was still a long way to go. In this undertaking, I was prepared to invest a significant amount of time and money looking for my dream house. To stay within my budget I took my kids along with me as I searched for gems hidden in estate sales. Every week, we would stroll through estate sales and garage sales on Fridays and Saturdays buying a mixture of new and old pieces. My next task was to spend the rest of my time painting and sanding out in the driveway. My love for furniture repair started with an appearance like this. Even after our house was fully furnished, I could not put it down! I rented a booth at the local market and sold pieces there. There were so many pieces I didn't have a clue what to do with them and I outgrew my space. There were open houses at my house which saw over 1 000 guests came through on a single weekend and could buy anything they saw on the ground floor. Growing Days is the result from this. Not only was my business expanding, but so was my sweet family too. There was a perfect balance between starting a new business and becoming a mother. Growing Days was the obvious option. In 2013, my daughter Nora was our fourth baby. I was thrilled with where my company was taking me, but I felt like I needed a break. I decided to stop building my old furniture and be at home with the kids. At the time, it was the ideal thing to do. It was only after several months that the phones started to be ringing. I was getting requests from people requesting for assistance with home improvements and design of interiors. They had mainly been to my home during open houses to purchase furniture. I began to take on customers one by one working at my own pace but it didn't take for long to have numerous accounts and had the complete business of home remodeling. You would probably have amused me if I had told you that this was going to be the subject of an DIY Network tv series. Even now, when I think about the circumstances I am laughing.
